This is the home page of HUI 216.01, Italian Civilization Through the Ages, a class taught at the University of Stony Brook (NY) during the Spring semester of 2010.

The course focuses on the historical development of civilization in Italy from the foundation of Rome to the Renaissance, with reference to literature, the visual arts, music, and other relevant expressions of national culture.

This web site has been tested on the latest PC versions of Firefox (3.5.7), Chrome (3.0.195.38), and Internet Explorer (IE 8's 32 bit works fine; some problems may occur while using the 64-bit version). Keep in mind that you need to have JavaScript enabled inside your browser, in order to see the rotating pictures of Italy, the slideshows included in some of the site's pages, and to be able to modify the colors and the graphics.
